We are interested in all aspects of hypoxia dependent gene expression. The erythropoietin gene, representing the prototype of a hypoxia inducible gene, and the involved transcription factors are in focus of our research. Beside hypoxia-induced cellular adaptations, we focus on inflammatory and infection related reactions in the context of reduced oxygen availability.
